The Sacred Ruins

Chapter 832

“Son, it’s been thirty years, yet you’re still only this big?!” Chu Feng greeted the Little Daoist with regard in the first instance of seeing him.

The Little Daoist’s countenance fell immediately. He looked at him with slanted eyes, wishing to curse him. Life was hard enough as it was!

“Toad, how come my son’s eyes are slanted? Did he pick it up from you?” Chu Feng asked Ouyang Feng.

“mmp...” Ouyang Feng rolled his eyes.

Chu Feng glanced towards the other side and said, “Xiaoxiao, your long hair reaches your waist, but how come you’re still a little lolita?”

As soon as these words came out the little Lolita was so angry she turned and left him with the view of the back of her head, ignoring him.

Then Chu Feng glanced at the other side and said, “Xixi, I should refer to you as First Mother Xi now, but how come you’re still pretending to be cute and young? Though there’s not a big difference between you and how you were back then.”

Lady Xi was immediately infuriated and said, “Demon Chu, your son and sister-in-law declined you modestly, but I’m not afraid. Come come, let us have three hundred rounds of battle where I’ll beat you into eighteen pieces!”

“Brother-in-law, your face has finally paled and you’re not that dark anymore. Ah, you sure can’t take the praise; how come your countenance has darkened again?!” Chu Feng’s mouth was unstoppable. He hadn’t spoken for thirty years and wanted to say a few things about whoever he saw. But this triggered others to wish he would shut up immediately.

“Old black, thirty years have passed and you’re still thinking of that green lady yak from the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau? Give up, your first love is the one who hurts you the most. You should understand that she’s already a set of white bones now, a so-called skeletal woman.”

“Black-mouthed Chu, I’ll fight you!”

Chu Feng disregarded him. He looked at Yellow Ox and said, “Little Yellow, regardless of whether you’re a male or female, your little face is becoming increasingly pretty and delicate. Come, let me have a look at what’s really going on.”

Yellow Ox’s delicate little face was quite stern. The strands of its golden hair glittered as it rose up and gave Chu Feng a Divine Ox Meteor Fist with a bang!

“Brother Tiger your...”

The Manchurian Tiger responded, “”@#?#...”

...

...

In an instant Chu Feng almost received a group-beating. His mouth jabbered on, almost

Wrecked after thirty years of not speaking.

Most importantly he didn’t have anything good to say when he opened his mouth, making people want to beat him up.

Everyone really wanted to invite Yaoyao to see if he still dared to talk so rashly. If he dared arrange Yaoyao’s words, they reckoned he would be beaten for sure.

At last Chu Feng discreetly glanced at Ying Zhexian and Qin Luoyin. Murmuring in a low voice, he mentioned they had become more shapely and so on.

The faces of the two women darkened.

“This is because I haven’t seen you for so many years and I’ve missed you all dearly. I’m greetly you with passion,” explained Chu Feng.

“Don’t mention it. Let’s get ready to steal some medicines. Look, this is the map. We’ve prepared many lately, have a look to see which we should visit.”

The big black yak exhaled and opened a beast skin map. He laid it on the stone table and pointed it out for Chu Feng, listing things out in detail. It included the Vicious Beast Plateau gods’ medicinal gardens as well as the medicinal field near the abyss.

Those were out of consideration as the level of difficulty was too high. At the slightest pretext they would upset the gods!

Chu Feng had a look. The easiest to obtain were the herbs from the crimson peak. They had originally found five there while also eliminating the Noble god Pu Lin.

But the medicinal herbs here could only be classified as basic divine medicines. Although they were later irrigated with divine beast blood, their growth was slow. He didn’t know if their medicinal effects had risen with the passing of thirty years.

The Manchurian Tiger pointed to the map and described it to him, saying, “The Ural Mountain range here also belongs to the wasteland, not the depths of the Vicious Beast Plateau. By the remote outskirts of the city, this medicinal field belongs to the Moon Goddess. There’s some very old spiritual lotus up on its peak which would be immensely useful to us!”

There were some spiritual lotus in the holy fountain within the Ural Mountains. Translucent, snow white and divinely flawless, they were greatly beneficial towards the growth of spiritual energy.

In fact this kind of divine lotus could even help people reconstruct their corporeal bodies once fully grown, producing Lotus Flower Physiques.

“There are Fusang Trees here too, which are classified as divine trees as they’re in a quasi-saint’s medicinal garden. But it’s not very far from the quasi-saint’s true residence, which is in the depths of the Vicious Beast Plateau. Furthermore, that deity possesses the Sun-Downing Bow. He’s not to be trifled with as he can shoot a target dead from tens of thousands of meters away. ”

The group analyzed it and realized that there were indeed lots of medicinal fields, but most of them were divine medicines. They were effective for them but not so much for Yaoyao.

What Yaoyao needed was a god-like medicine!

Yet the truly god-like medicines were all near the gods’ dwellings or in the abyss.

“Thankfully we fled quickly enough thirty years ago and didn’t think of the Divine Vermillion Bird Medicine. That old bird is too terrifying. He killed two of the deities from the Vicious Beast Plateau and eliminated all of the Flying Dragon Snakes. His might is incomparable.”

They were still quite scared thinking of this now.

“Let me have a think.”

Chu Feng studied these medicinal fields. Even the worst ones had divine medicines. The highest-quality regions had god-like medicines and there were unlike the treasures from the Yang realm, which were incredibly lacking. Here there was an abundance of Yang qi so the medicinal effects were shocking.

“We need to be clear-minded. If we loot medicines it will surely be an alarming incident and we won’t be able to continue hiding then. I figure we’ll be hunted after we consume the divine medicine. It’s alright as long as we can support ourselves until we absorb the medicinal effects.”

Chu Feng speculated that once they reached that moment some of them might get killed one after another, forced to commit suicide, or to hurriedly return to their original universe.

Everyone’s complexion became solemn and they nodded repeatedly. This signified that their adventure in this world will be completely finished!

Chu Feng’s expression became stern. He contemplated further and felt that this meant a lot of people will truly be finished in this world. Therefore, he was very cautious.

“It’s good to end early. After all our gains this time should exceed those of previous individuals and we have advanced intensely through using divine beast blood to baptize our spirits,” Ying Zhexian said.

This was the truth. How many could obtain divine beast blood back then?

Qin Luoyin’s countenance grew incomparably serious when she heard this. She also understood the severity of the problem as they were now spirits.

“Our powerful spirits could greatly damage our corporeal bodies when we return to them!”

“Yes!” Ying Zhexian nodded.

Everyone was alarmed. This was an issue they had to address. It wouldn’t be good if their spirits were too strong when they return.

“Relax, even if we each consume a divine medicine we won’t immediately become quasi-saints. It’s not that easy to become saints,” said Chu Feng.

One cannot rely on eating worldly treasures to become a quasi-saint. Instead they need to come to realization. They needed to seize orders and regulations, resonate and connect with themselves and so on.

If their spirits did return as the spirits of saints, there was no way their corporeal bodies would remain. There was no need for further consideration as they would be burnt to ashes.

“Fine then, let’s decide on that. Most people should end their journey anyways,” said Chu Feng.

Apart from Yaoyao, who was currently in seclusion, it was not suitable for the others to continue remaining here for long periods of time.

Of course Chu Feng was an exception. He could continue understanding the domains in this world, study the topographies of the mountains and rivers etc.

Ouyang Feng said, “Let’s achieve our goals now and do well in preparing all kinds of endeavors. We’ve decided to commit a crazy crime before we leave!”

Chu Feng nodded. He was now ready to operate first, going to the site to observe and study.

“I’m leaving now. You guys should practice in seclusion as before and I too will practice while I’m outside studying the mountains and creatures. Wait for me and I will let you know when I’m going to fight!”

Chu Feng finished speaking and left on his journey after having a small gathering with them here.

For ten years Chu Feng travelled through the Vicious Beasts Plateau, treading across the surroundings of the eight abysses before finally determining a target. What was most unfortunate was he was certain they would harvest the divine medicine, as it was close to the gods!

During the past ten years he had further investigated domains and his mastery was increasingly profound. He had already progressed from the initial stages of a grandmaster to the middle stages!

This rate of advancement was alarming.

“Go, let’s go and pick some medicines!” Chu Feng had returned after ten years and called out to everyone.

Even Yaoyao was stunned and hence came out of seclusion. She was prepared to follow alongside him.

This was because some may be returning back to their original universe today, so it could be considered as sending them off.

Chu Feng opened his mouth and said, “Everyone, today or in the next couple of days many of us will be leaving, so take good care of yourselves!”

Some were silent, including Ying Zhexian and QIn Luoyin, because most of their memories of this world would be severed. They would not be able to retain them.

Once they return to their original world they would forget the people, the experiences, the emotions and some of the things they treasured here...

“Unfortunately after we return the friendships between us, which are more precious than mother gold, will dissipate and be forgotten. It’s quite depressing.” Ying Xiaoxiao looked at everyone in front.

“Go, let’s go harvest some medicines first!” Chu Feng led the way.

Yaoyao followed him, protecting everyone.

This time she was sure she wouldn’t leave.

They had chosen the Martial God’s territory as their first stop. This was also the place where Chu Feng and the others had come to when they first descended and it was by the crimson peaks.

The great medicines here were the best to harvest!

But some of the medicines on the peaks here had been harvested before and there were blood medicines remaining on only two of the peaks. Unfortunately there were only a total of four divine medicines on the two mountains. It really wasn’t a lot.

As before scarlet lightning curled around the crimson peaks, making a crackling noise.

Yaoyao could cut open this area with force, but she didn’t. Doing this would alert the enemy. They would only be able to take the medicine here and taking from other areas would be out of the question.

This area wasn’t an issue for Chu Feng. Back then he had experienced the arrangements more or less here. Now that he had become a grandmaster he could easily overcome them and break open the domains rather quickly.

Soon afterwards the party successfully ascended the mountain and collected the four divine medicines from the two crimson peaks.

“Hurry and eat them!” Chu Feng passed one to Ying Xiaoxiao as well as to the old grandmaster Wu Qifeng and others.

“We’ll eat some later.” Ying Xiaoxiao pouted. She didn’t want to leave yet and was unwilling to separate from Chu Feng and the others. She didn’t want to part.

“You’re silly. After returning it’s only a night’s time before they too will return to the Dameng Pure Land.” Ying Wudi criticized her.

“What do you understand? Once we go back we will forget everything here. You, controlled by your elder sister, are probably desperate to return sooner!” Ying Xiaoxiao was seething while simultaneously upset.

Ying Wudi was so angry as he watched helplessly, desperate to beat his sister. He was truly at his wit’s end.

In the end the four medicines were eaten by the four great demons from Mount Eternal.

The four people were unable to move a single step and need people to carry them. En route Yaoyao even helped them refine the effect of the medicine. It was clear that these couldn’t be assimilated to the fullest. They could only be stored within spirit beams.

Naturally, more than half of the medicinal effect was completely wasted. After all there was a limit to how much the spirit can absorb without a corporeal body.

“Go, to the next destination!”

Chu Feng laid out a domain and they immediately traversed through space, vanishing from the area!

Then moments after they had departed the domain disintegrated by itself and became dust. This was a technique of someone at the grandmaster level.

They appeared at the Ural Mountains. Chu Feng had already studied the area completely and led people to charge the peak directly. They saw a spiritual lotus, snow white, translucent and with a sweet fragrance, in a snow-white pond.

Here Ying Xiaoxiao had no choice but to take the divine medicine. She pulled on Chu Feng’s hand, looked at the others and said, “Everyone, I will miss you all. I think that some precious things will surely sink down to the bottom of one’s heart instead of being forgotten completely!”

Consuming the divine medicine meant that she must leave not today but in the next coming days!

“Take care of yourselves everyone. We’ll meet again in our own universe. I hope that when the time comes we are still the closest of friends and not enemies. I hope we’ll still remember each other!” Chu Feng said, looking at Qin Luoyin, Ying Zhexian, Ying Wudi and the others.
